Lenggong – The UNESCO Global Geopark of Lenggong is honoured to welcome the PERKEP contingent from Perak on the occasion of the PERKEP Leisure Programme to Lenggong, which offers exciting experiences centred on nature, heritage, culture and activities with the local community.
One of the main highlights of the programme is a visit to the Lenggong Geopark Gallery, which offers participants the opportunity to gain a closer insight into the geological history and the development of human life in Lenggong, including the unique heritage features that have led to the area being recognised as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
The tour then continued to the Lenggong Valley Archaeological Museum, the Bukit Bunuh Meteorite Impact Site, Masjid Raja, the Blue Well and several other tourist attractions around Lenggong.
Participants also had the opportunity to enjoy the unique local food and culture by visiting the Traditional Food Gallery and watching a traditional food preparation demonstration at the Kampung Luat Heritage Kitchen.
The programme was also enriched by boat trips along the Perak River, visits to Kampung Beng, an introduction to Lenggong batik art, and a tour of the Kiah Lenggong Fermented Fish Gallery. These various activities showcased the diverse range of products and tourism experiences available around Lenggong.
This visit not only provided participants with a relaxing and meaningful experience, but also offered an opportunity to gain a closer insight into the diverse geological, archaeological, cultural and natural heritage that is a key asset of Lenggong.
